The bottom edge of the pot looks like it may have an old repair, obviously to stop a developed leak at some point in time. The weld is a bit rough but looks home-made and occurs at the very bottom of the kettle and is hardly noticeable. The kettle still holds water. A great rustic piece for the coming colder weather, when all eyes turn back indoors and the home is a place of warmth and of warm cider or tea on cool, crisp autumn evenings. This particular tea kettle not only has a great look, but is also in quite remarkable overall vintage condition, considering it would've been one of the most used items in an early 20th century American kitchen. The turned upper wooden handle is just terrific and the wood knob lid pull has green paint remnants. A great early 20th century rustic tea kettle that would look great up on top of your existing kitchen cabinets or displayed on a hutch or on top of your vintage stove. Wherever you so decide to place it in your home, it will provide immediate rustic charm and a reminder that the best times of the winter season are always spent with friends and family and with a spot of warm tea perhaps.
